Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal data Nilemnod collects, why we collect it, and the choices and rights you have.
1. Overview
Nilemnod ("we", "us", "our") builds and operates mobile applications and this website. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This policy applies to our website at nilemnod.com and to the apps we publish, except where an app provides its own specific privacy notice.
By using our website or apps, you acknowledge the practices described in this policy.
2. Data we collect
We aim to collect only the data we need. Depending on how you interact with us, this may include:
- Information you provide — such as your name, email address and the content of messages you send us through forms or email.
- Account data — where an app requires an account, credentials and profile details you choose to provide.
- Usage and device data — such as app version, device type, operating system, and anonymised interaction data used to improve stability and features.
- Diagnostics — crash reports and performance data that help us fix problems.
This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. It stores two small preferences in your browser's local storage — the interface language and the light or dark theme you select. These values stay on your device, are never sent to us, and can be removed at any time by clearing your browser data.
Our website is hosted on GitHub Pages. Like any web host, GitHub processes technical connection data such as your IP address and browser user agent in order to deliver the page and protect the service.
3. How we use your data
We use personal data to:
- Provide, maintain and improve our apps and website;
- Respond to your requests, questions and support enquiries;
- Diagnose problems, prevent abuse and keep our services secure;
- Comply with legal obligations that apply to us.
We do not sell your personal data.
4. Legal bases for processing
Where the GDPR or similar laws apply, we process personal data on the following bases: your consent; the performance of a contract with you; our legitimate interests in operating and improving our services; and compliance with legal obligations. You may withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent.
6. Data retention
We keep personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy, to provide our services, or to meet legal, accounting or reporting requirements. When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it.
7. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@nilemnod.com. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
To delete your account and the data connected to it, use our account and data deletion page. It explains exactly what is deleted, what we are legally required to keep, and how long the process takes.
8. Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss or misuse. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work continuously to safeguard your information.
9. Children's privacy
Our services are not directed at children under the age required by local law (generally 13 or 16), and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has provided us with data, please contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here and revise the "last updated" date. Significant changes may be communicated through our apps or by email where appropriate.
11. Contact us
If you have questions about this policy or how we handle your data, contact us at privacy@nilemnod.com or through our contact page.
